Silicone baking!!
Have you heard of these products? Silicone baking pans and accessories??? Here's one of MANY companies offering silicone bakeware http://www.dvo.com/silicone.html
This past weekend mom bought me a 9" square pan to try out. We both thought it was SO weird!!! But it is FABULOUS!!!!! I made some kind of chocolate cake, caramel brownie kind-a thing. See
but check this out...it is TOTALLY flexible (can turn it inside out) AND it's not TOO hot to the touch. Don't get me worng...it gets hot. BUT I don't think it would blister you before you realized that you have time to move your hand away (like a class or metal pan does). Yes, I had to touch it right out of the oven!!! Good for baking wiht children around!!
I'm sold!
We'll see hoe the brownies taste after class tonight...if there are any left!

were they dry? did it cook evenly? was the cleaning simple/easy? would you use other designs of the same product? if not, why? what would you recommend NOT to cook in this type of container? does grease ruin the sides like it does when cooking in the microwave?

In reply to mom....
The "cake" was very, moist and fluffy.
VERY easy to clean. Non-stick is really non-stick this time.
I'd use all sorts of designs. A friend has a bundt pan and says it's perfect EVERY TIME!
Do NOT use sharp knives!
Can't imagine what you can not cook in it!
Says it can heat to 600 degrees, so far no evidence of the oils burning into the sides.
